Students in this learner-centered course will explore guidelines for evaluating children’s literature; explore and select literature that recognizes the different developmental needs of elementary school children; examine the changing world of children’s books; help children make literature connections to their own lives; develop a literature reading program for students; and study the works of selected authors and illustrators.
